The artist Clou—Mary Lou Carrico-Lonergan received her Baccalaureate and Master of Arts degrees from Western Michigan University
Has worked in the art field professionally in Michigan and Indiana, especially in art education and now as a professional artist. Clou spent years in the school public relations field, writing and illustrating brochures, providing photos and cut lines, editing newsletters and annual reports.
Since 1979 Clou and her husband have traveled in North and Central America and Europe taking pjctures, making sketches and visiting museums of art.
Clou works in pastels, has studied with Don Vogl from 2001 — 2005. She has been accepted in the Midwest Regional Show in Elkhart, Indiana in 2001 and 2005. In 2003 she won the Carol Lupa Pastel Award from the South Bend Regional Museum of Art in the Northern Indiana Artists, Inc. exhibit. Her diptych of the Women of October Cancer Victims won the 2005 Memorial Award at the NIA show at the Lubeznik Museum in Michigan City, Indiana.
